Cherkizovo to receive a prestigious award at the SAP Innovation Awards 2019

Cherkizovo Group is to receive a prestigious award at SAP's annual SAPPHIRE NOW conference held in May 2019 in Orlando, Florida after the new plant in Kashira was selected and named a winner in the Digital Trailblazer category at the SAP Innovation Awards 2019.
The SAP Innovation Awards 2019 recognized businesses in a variety of categories, including Digital Trailblazer, Industry Disruptor, Process Innovator, Social Hero, and Next-Gen Innovator. The Digital Trailblazer award was contested by companies claiming the best use of technology to drive business transformation. Digital Trailblazer contestants use SAP products and technologies to profoundly transform their business. Examples include enabling new business models, opening new markets, or radically changing how products or services are created and delivered. Among more than 12 Digital Trailblazer winners are major brands like Toyota, American Airlines, Munich Re and others.

"Deployed in collaboration with Sabris, the software platform at the Kashira plant includes SAP ERP based on SAP S/4HANA, MES-level systems using the SAP NetWeaver industry solution, and SCADA systems, which serve as the interface between MES and the equipment.

The plant is the industry's first to conform to Industry 4.0 requirements, boasting fully automated processes and minimum human involvement. Facilities of similar capacity usually employ about 700 people, while the staff at the Kashira plant includes approximately 200 employees", informs the company in a press release.
In the near future, Cherkizovo intends to deploy fully automated IT managed systems at other production sites. According to the company's representatives, the Kashira project is to become an industry benchmark in the long-term. "We have combined traditional technologies and automation, IoT and AI to use resources rationally, achieve the highest quality standards, and ensure full transparency of the production chain. This project is set to become an industry benchmark for the next ten years", explained Sergey Ryzhov, Head of Business Development at Cherkizovo Group.
Also, Alexey Petunin, Deputy Director General at SAP CIS, declared the factory a model for every food processing company in the world. "The rapid technological advances have been a major challenge to businesses across the globe. To succeed in today’s marketplace, companies need to be at the forefront of these innovations. Cherkizovo’s fully automated plant is unmatched not only in Russia but worldwide, and I am proud of our contribution to this unique and challenging project that has received international recognition," he said.
