ABIEC mission in Chile boosts business and promotes Brazilian beef
The event included a round of business meetings involving more than 20 member companies and ended with the Brazilian Beef Dinner, an event to promote Brazilian beef, at the official residence of the Brazilian ambassador to Chile, Paulo Roberto Soares Pacheco.
The business round brought together representatives of the Brazilian export industry and local importers in meetings held with the support of ApexBrasil and the Brazilian Embassy in Santiago. The initiative allowed listening to the Chilean market, identifying opportunities for expansion and reinforcing the commitment of Brazilian companies to the quality, safety and health of beef.
The mission was attended by companies associated with ABIEC from various producing regions, with a strong presence in bilateral trade with Chile. The following companies were present: Better Beef, Boibras, Comesul, Estrela, Frigol, Frigon, Frigosul, Frivasa, Iguatemi, JBS, LKJ, Marfrig, Minerva, Naturafrig, Ramax and RXM. The presence of these companies reinforced the private sector's engagement in building lasting partnerships and in promoting the value of Brazilian beef in the Chilean market.
"We returned to Chile to listen to the market, bring together our members with the main importers and strengthen a partnership built on credibility, dialogue and concrete results. Chile remains among the main destinations for Brazilian beef this year, reflecting the collective work of our production chain", highlighted Julio Ramos, Director of Strategic Affairs at ABIEC, who represented the Association and its president, Roberto Perosa, during the mission.
As part of the mission's institutional strategy, the Brazilian Beef Dinner was held, bringing together more than 130 guests, including authorities, businesspeople, distributors, opinion makers and the press. The event was attended by the Vice Minister of Agriculture, Alan Espinoza Ortiz; the national director of SAG, Luis Álvarez; former undersecretary José Ignacio Pinochet; the executive director of the Chilean Meat Importers and Distributors Association, Christian Lobo; and the Chilean agricultural attaché Ricardo Moyano, among other leaders from the public and private sectors.
Ambassador Paulo Pacheco praised the partnership between the two countries. "Brazil is currently the second largest supplier of beef to Chile, the result of a work of trust, transparency and quality. Abiec is here to bring our commercial ties even closer through diplomacy and gastronomy".
The mission was also attended by the director of International Relations at ABIEC, Lhais Sparvoli, and technical assistant Selma Acácia, and was made possible with the support of ApexBrasil, in addition to the decisive action of the head of the Embassy's Commercial Sector, Felipe Neves, and the Agricultural Attaché, Rodrigo Padovani.
"We thank the Brazilian Embassy in Santiago for all the institutional support provided, reaffirming our commitment to expanding markets and promoting Brazilian beef around the world", concluded Julio Ramos.
