ABIEC participates in WOFEX for the first time and expands its presence in the Philippines
The event is in its 25th year, bringing together buyers, distributors, and opinion leaders from across the region. ABIEC will be present alongside the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), manning the Brazilian Beef project booth, a showcase for the Brazilian product worldwide.
This unprecedented participation is part of the strategy to expand markets and promote Brazilian beef internationally. A total of 12 member companies will be represented at the ABIEC booth: Comesul Beef, Frialto, Frigorífico Silva, Iguatemi, LKJ, Masterboi, Mercúrio Alimentos, Naturafrig, Ramax Group, RXM, Supremo Carnes, and Zanchetta.
The official opening of the Brazilian Beef booth will take place on August 6th, with the presence of local authorities, Brazilian government representatives, and business leaders. The mission will also include Julio Ramos, ABIEC's Director of Strategic Affairs.
"The Philippines has established itself as one of the most promising markets for Brazilian beef in Asia, and our presence at WOFEX reinforces this commitment. We are here to strengthen trade ties, expand access to our product, and showcase to the world a production model based on quality, health, and sustainability. Brazilian beef is competitive and safe, and Brazil is prepared to be a reliable long-term partner for the Philippine market", says Julio Ramos, Director of Strategic Affairs at ABIEC.
As part of its institutional agenda, ABIEC will also host the Brazilian Beef Dinner on the 6th, at 7 p.m., in the Forbes Ballroom of the Conrad Manila Hotel. The dinner is an economic diplomacy initiative led by ABIEC President Roberto Perosa, in partnership with the Brazilian Embassy in the Philippines. The goal is to strengthen commercial and institutional ties with Filipino importers, authorities, and opinion leaders, reinforcing confidence in the quality and safety of Brazilian beef.
The dinner will feature the participation of representatives from important exporting companies associated with ABIEC: Agra, Astra, Barra Mansa, Boibras, Comesul, Frialto, Friboi, Frigorífico Estrela, Frigorífico Silva, Iguatemi, LKJ, Marfrig, Masterboi, Mercúrio, Naturafrig, Ramax, RXM, Sudambeef, Supremo Carnes and Zanchetta.
The Philippines has established itself as one of Asia's most promising markets for Brazilian beef. In 2024, the country ranked 6th among the largest destinations by volume, with 92,000 tons exported and revenue of US$335 million—equivalent to over 3% of the sector's total exports.
