ABIEC records historic record at Anuga 2025 with nearly US$8 billion in business

According to a survey of participating companies, immediate business totaled US$847.2 million, while expectations for the next 12 months reach US$7 billion, an increase of approximately 150% compared to the 2023 edition. ABIEC was present in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), manning the Brazilian Beef project booth, a showcase for Brazilian beef on the global market.

In the previous edition, immediate negotiations totaled approximately US$340 million, with a projection of US$2.8 billion for the following year. The expansion reflects the impact of the expanded presence of the Brazilian Beef pavilion , which brought together almost twice as many member companies as the last edition, totaling approximately 30 exporters in a renovated space featuring a tasting area, a business environment, and the traditional Brazilian beef-themed restaurant.

The booths of member companies remained packed throughout the fair, amidst a busy schedule of meetings and negotiations with international buyers, reinforcing global interest in Brazilian beef and Brazil's role as the world's leading supplier of the product.

The Brazilian Beef restaurant, run by Barbacoa, was one of Anuga's highlights, welcoming around 5,000 visitors daily. During the five-day event, an average of 300 kilos of beef and 550 Brazilian caipirinhas were served daily. The space established itself as a meeting point for business people, authorities, and importers from various countries, promoting Brazil's image as a producer of high-quality, sustainable, and safe meat.

Throughout the fair, ABIEC held bilateral meetings, meetings with importers and European retail representatives, and welcomed delegations from various continents interested in expanding trade relations with Brazil. In addition to the participation of the organization's president, Roberto Perosa, the mission also included the presence of the Association's Director of Strategic Affairs, Julio Ramos.

During the opening ceremony of the Brazilian Beef stand, the Brazilian ambassador to Germany, Rodrigo Baena Soares, the mayor of Cologne, Henriette Reker, the secretary of Commerce and International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Luis Rua, the Agribusiness manager of ApexBrasil, André Müller, and the president of the ABIEC Board, Renato Costa, among several other authorities, partners and representatives of the sector, were present.

For ABIEC president Roberto Perosa, the results reflect the industry's positive momentum and the growing recognition of Brazilian beef. "Anuga 2025 demonstrated the strength of Brazilian beef and the confidence of international buyers. We tripled our business potential, consolidated partnerships, and opened new commercial fronts that will generate concrete results for the entire production chain over the coming months."

According to Perosa, ABIEC's participation in Anuga reinforces the success of the Brazilian Beef sector project, developed in partnership with ApexBrasil, which has been promoting the image of Brazilian beef for more than two decades and strengthening its presence in strategic markets around the world.

According to Anuga's organizers, the 2025 edition brought together more than 145,000 professional visitors from 190 countries and more than 8,000 exhibitors from 110 nations.
