Argentine reaches new highs in pork production, consumption, and exports
Between January and August 2025, the country reached historic highs in slaughter and production: 5,521,175 heads were slaughtered and a total production of 526,463 tons, according to official data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, SENASA, and INDEC.
Growth is not an isolated event. Over the last decade, pork slaughter has maintained an average annual growth rate of 6%, consolidating the sector as one of the most dynamic within national meat production.
At the same time, domestic consumption also reached a historic record: it rose from 10 to 17.95 kilos per capita in ten years, consolidating pork as an increasingly popular option on Argentine tables.
The export profile is following a positive trend: Argentine now has more than 54 open markets for pork products and by-products. New strategic destinations were added last year, including Paraguay, Uruguay, and the Philippines, broadening the sector's growth horizon.
