Beyond Meat is increasing production
Beyond Meat is making a bold move and announce that it will open o new production facility in Columbia, Missouri. The unit will increase the production capacity at 300% as the company revealed that there is a growing demand for plant-based products such as burgers and sausages.
"We first came to Missouri in 2009 to access the outstanding research being conducted at the University of Missouri. We have been investing in, and growing together with, Columbia, MO ever since, and I’m pleased to announce this latest manufacturing investment, our largest to date. Our expansion not only brings more jobs and opportunity to this special community but also furthers Missouri’s position as a leader in the production of plant-based meat", said Ethan Brown, CEO, and founder of Beyond Meat.
The new factory is described as a state-of-the-art facility that features high-efficiency lighting and new water recirculation systems that reduce consumption by nearly 80% and will allow the company to develop a new range of products. With this investment, Beyond Meat’s manufacturing footprint will increase from 2,700 sqm to 9,300 sqm, reports Drovers magazine.
