Brazil: Egg exports grow 71.9 percent in August
Revenue generated from shipments in August reached US$5.729 million, a 90.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024, with US$3.003 million.
With this result, accumulated exports between January and August reached 32,303 tons, 192.2% higher than the same period last year (11,057 tons). Year-to-date revenue reached US$75.295 million, an increase of 214.5% compared to the US$23.943 million obtained in the same period in 2024.
In August, the main export destinations were Japan, with 578 tonnes (+328.5%), followed by the United States, with 439 tonnes (+628.9%), Mexico, with 304 tonnes (no comparison with the previous year), the United Arab Emirates, with 182 tonnes (no shipments in the same month of the previous year), and Chile, with 172 tonnes (-79.6%).
"Shipments to the United States suffered the effects of the tariff hike, with a decrease in shipments during the month. At the same time, we're seeing a resurgence in destinations like the United Arab Emirates and a strengthening of new importers like Mexico. In any case, no significant impacts on the domestic egg supply are expected, as we export less than 2% of our production", assesses ABPA president Ricardo Santin.
