Brazilian participation in Anuga 2025 generates over US$700 million in expected business

With impressive results and a strong institutional presence, Brazil's participation in ANUGA 2025—Europe's largest food and beverage trade fair—reflected optimism about the reopening of the European market for Brazil's chicken meat sector. The initiative, led by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), generated US$78.6 million in business deals during the fair and an expected export of over US$703 million over the next 12 months.

Held from October 4th to 8th in Cologne, Germany, the event brought together 26 exporting agribusinesses from the chicken, pork, egg, and poultry genetic material sectors in a booth measuring over 400 m² – in addition to five other companies that participated in the event with their own booths. It was the first sectoral activity in the European Union after the reopening of the European market to Brazilian chicken meat, in response to the overcoming of the only case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in commercial poultry in the country.

In addition to business rounds and strategic meetings with importers and authorities, the Brazilian space hosted image-building initiatives for Brazilian Chicken, Brazilian Pork, Brazilian Egg, Brazilian Breeders, and Brazilian Duck, highlighting the distinctive qualities of quality, sustainability, and sanitary responsibility of Brazilian production.

One of the highlights was the tasting of typical dishes prepared with animal protein from Brazilian poultry farming, led by Chef Marcelo Bortolon, who delighted visitors with flavors that reflect the excellence of Brazilian production with the service of more than 3,000 dishes based on chicken meat Made in Brazil, as well as omelets and others.

"ANUGA 2025 represented a strategic moment of reconnection with the European market and other international partners. Brazil's poultry and swine industries demonstrated their strength, adaptability, and, above all, competitiveness. The results speak for themselves and reinforce global confidence in our products," emphasizes Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA.

Participation in ANUGA is part of the sectoral project carried out by ABPA in partnership with ApexBrasil, aimed at promoting Brazilian poultry and swine exports in the main international markets, through business generation and image strengthening.
