Campofrio acts to change its packaging to 100% recyclable
Campofrio decided to change the packaging for its brands Campofrio, Navidul and Revilla to 100% recyclable ahead of the deadline established through the European Circular Economy Strategy. The decision targets the Spanish market, where the trays of Campofrio pizzas and the slices of the Campofrio, Navidul and Revilla brands are to be changed with eco-friendly materials, which will reduce the plastic content in their packaging by 20% starting this year.
"This initiative shows the company's commitment to promote the implementation of a circular economy model that requires the review of all processes related to the product life cycle, from its design to its revaluation," says Javier Dueñas, CEO of Campofrio. The change of its product portfolio to 100% recyclable packaging is part of the four pillars of the company's strategy on packaging, which also includes a 25% reduction in the use of virgin plastic by 2025; increasing the content of recycled material to the maximum technically possible; and the study of other packaging solutions.
