Only 39% of the New Zealand's quota of sheepmeat have bee delivered in Europe and more than 30% was directed to the UK.

New Zealand prefers Asian markets over EU

In the first semester of this year, the EU imported 101,500 tonnes of sheep meat under the variously available quotas. 36% of the sheep meat quotas for international exporters has been used, informs UK's Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).
Norway it's the only country that covered all of its sheepmeat quota (300 tonnes), followed by Australia with 48% of 19,186 tonnes.
New Zealand, the most favoured exporter in the relationship with EU has completed only 39% of its quota, delivering 88,455 tonnes (-1% compared to the same period of 2017) of sheep meat in the region, of which 28,600 tonnes were sent to the UK, its main partner inside EU.
By contrast, China has received 94,700 tonnes of New Zealand sheep meat in the first six months of the year, increasing the volume shipped to this destination by 9%.
Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile have covered only 5%, 8% and 16% respectively, of their sheepmeat export quotas to EU. Turkey and Greenland have made no shipment.
