Red meat production in Turkey increased by 9.3%
Red meat production in Turkey has increased y-o-y during 2020-2021. According to TurkStat, last year's total red meat production it was estimated at 1,952,038 tonnes, up by 9.3% from the previous year. Cattle meat production increased by 8.9% and was estimated at 1,460,719 tonnes, sheep meat production increased by 11.7% and was estimated at 385,933 tonnes, goat meat production increased by 4.5% and was estimated at 94,555 tonnes, and buffalo meat production increased by 28.6% and estimated as 10,831 tonnes.

When red meat production during the last 10 years was examined, it is seen that the total red meat production which was 1,067,553 tonnes in 2012, became 1,952,038 tonnes in 2021.

Last year's total red meat production was composed of 74.8% cattle meat, 19.8% sheep meat, 4.8% goat meat and 0.6% buffalo meat.
