Several Brazilian poultry facilities banned from exporting to Saudi Arabia

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has published the list from the health service of Saudi Arabia which authorizes 25 Brazilian establishments to export their poultry products to the Middle Eastern country.

ABPA said that there are currently 58 plants authorized by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture to export, but only 30 of these actually ship products. Therefore the ban is impacting five poultry processing facilities.

ABPA added that these units have not received authorization for export due to "technical" reasons. Meanwhile, measures are taken in order for the affected producers to receive approval for export.

The authorized group last year accounted for 63% of the volume of Brazilian chicken exports - corresponding to 437 thousand tons - to Saudi Arabia.
