Spain: Mercolleida again registers an exceptional drop of 10 cents in the price of pork
These reductions are in addition to those already applied in the extraordinary meetings last Monday, when the prices set the previous Thursday were exceptionally revised.
For the second time this week, Mercolleida has been forced to exceed the usual maximum price variation limit of 6 cents for pork, an extraordinary situation driven by market uncertainty and the halt in exports to countries outside the European Union. It's worth noting that, prior to the confirmation of African swine fever (ASF) on Friday, an additional drop of 1.4 cents had already been recorded the previous Thursday. Therefore, the price of pork at Mercolleida has fallen by 21.4 cents since last Thursday.
