Spain has increased by 13% its cured ham exports

This adjustment has occurred in some important markets, which have recovered volume at the expense of a lower average price.
In global figures, the countries of the European Union imported a total of 39,072.76 tonnes, accounting for 73% of the exports of Spanish cured ham. In terms of value, the growing trend of the weight of third countries continues, with 34% compared to 66% of the European Union. In the EU, Germany, France, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Denmark and Sweden were the main market for Jamon Serrano. Sweden is the European Union market with the highest price, with €12.95/kg, followed by Denmark, with €11.41/kg.
On the other hand, third countries that have reflected a more important growth in terms of value have been China, by 74.69%; Chile by 72.76% and the US by 33.19%. According to the CJSE, this last market "has emerged as the main destination for cured ham outside the European Union, registering monthly export records, and from the CJSE we foresee that it will become one of the most important markets in the year 2022 ”.
China continues to rise as the market with the highest price of €16.77/kg, despite having decreased by 23.20%. On the other hand, the United Kingdom has experienced an increase in the average price of 14.11%, standing at €14.95/kg, only behind China worldwide. Australia, on the other hand, has increased its value by 18.85%, as well as its average price by 4.43%.
