Spaniards pay interest to where the animals were raised

Consumers are interested in tracking down the origin of the animal whose meat is buying but the main criterion is the place where the animal was raised rather than the place of birth, shows a recent study commended by Provacuno in the domestic market. 71,1%  of the respondents have shown interest in the breeding place of animals, while only 3,4% were interested in the place of birth. For other 16.6%, the two criteria are equally important.

Likewise, the brand or quality assurance certificate is only essential for slightly more than half of the buyers (53.9%), and for another third it is fine but it is not essential (35.5%).

According to the study, there are other factors that offer more security to the buyer, such as the butcher (30.3%), the appearance and colour of the meat (23.8%), or the establishment in which they buy (22.1% ).
