The Sial China closed with good business prospects

Overall, exporters emphasized that while there was less public attendance, the quality of contacts was better than in previous years. Few deals were closed, but there was a very positive outlook for future purchases. The transactions were driven by caution stemming from the tariff war and the safeguards process initiated by the Chinese government.

Prices were stable compared to previous weeks, maintaining the slight increase seen in the last two months.

"Just as we did with the IPCVA, promotional institutes from around the world, such as Uruguay, Brazil, Australia, the United States, and Ireland, also participated, with whom we exchanged information to see how they view the market, tariff movements, and the progress of the safeguard process", said Georges Breitchsmitt, president of the Institute.

"On the other hand, one of the most important actions was the signing of the agreement with JD.com, one of the largest online sales platforms in China, with 600 million users", he added.

"It's important to highlight that these types of promotional activities, beyond the resulting foreign currency income for the country through exports, also generate benefits for the entire meat supply chain", he concluded.

Regarding quality grain-fed beef (steer), inquiries were recorded, such as turtle ($6,400, cost and freight) or marucha ($8,300, cost and freight).

The tariff war between the United States and China has prompted many inquiries about quality grain-finished beef. Many importers have stopped buying from the United States and, given Australia's increased prices, are seeking alternative sources of supply.

The companies that accompanied IPCVA at Sial China 2025 were the following: ArreBeef, Azul Natural Beef, Hereford Meat, South American Meats, Bernal Company, Central Pampena Company, Ecocarnes, Frigolar, Forres Beltrán Refrigerator, General Pico Refrigerator, Gorina Refrigerator, Rioplatense Refrigerator. Frimsa, Lequio Group, Recreo Refrigeration Industries, South Refrigeration Industries, Italmen. La Anónima, Nestor Tomasello, Offal Exp, Pampa Meat Company, Quickfood Marfrig, Rafaela Alimentos, Santa Giulia, Urien Loza, Visom.
