Turkey authorizes nine Brazilian plants to import gelatin and collagen
The trade relationship between Brazil and Turkey has entered a new strategic phase with the official approval of nine South American facilities for the export of gelatin and collagen. This progress is the result of technical cooperation that included audits by Turkish inspectors on Brazilian soil, enabling domestic production to meet the requirements of the TROIS system and consolidate a more predictable export flow for both nations.
In December 2025, an official Turkish veterinary mission assessed Brazilian plants in the sector and certified the sanitary compliance of domestic production at three audited units. Six other plants, already on the European Union's TRACES list, were added to the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's (MAF) list following a document review.
Registration is done through the TROIS system, recently implemented by Turkey, which lists establishments and countries that meet the sanitary requirements for exporting gelatin, collagen, fish, dairy products and meat.
Currently, TROIS has 10 facilities authorized to export gelatin and collagen to Turkey, six of which are Brazilian. Specifically, four facilities are authorized to export only gelatin, two of which are Brazilian, and four are authorized to export only collagen, one of which is Brazilian.
In addition to the authorizations already published, eight other Brazilian establishments are under review. They are expected to be included on the list of authorized exporters soon.
The presence of Brazilian companies on the Turkish list consolidates market access and increases the sector's predictability in commercial operations with Turkey.
