Turkey reports an increase on its poultry production in March
Turkey's egg and chicken meat production are rising on a year-to-year basis, according to the latest report released by TurkStat.
Hen egg production in the country increased 1.5 percent year-on-year in March. and by 5.2 percent on monthly basis.
"Chicken meat production increased by 11.6 percent in March compared with the previous month, and increased by 3.2 percent compared with the same month of the previous year", mentioned the statistical report released on May 14.
The biggest advance on a year-to-year basis was registered on turkey production which rose by 66.6% compared to March 2017 and by 15.2% on monthly basis.
Total chicken meat production reached a volume of 185,843 tons while turkey production was at 5,353 tons resulted from the slaughtering of 105 million chickens and 523,000 turkeys.
