Two Chinese delegations meet with INAC
Meeting with Hainan State Farm Investment Holding Group
The first meeting took place with representatives from Hainan State Farm Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd., a state-owned enterprise from Hainan Province, located in southern China. INAC was represented by General Manager Inés Invernizzi, Head of Market Access Christian Shaw, and Brand Manager Andrés Angulo.
During the meeting, INAC gave an institutional presentation on the Uruguayan meat sector, highlighting the attributes of trust, traceability, safety and transparency that characterize the country's beef production chain.
They also exchanged views on the development of Hainan province as a logistics, tourism, and distribution hub for China and the Asia-Pacific region. The role of the Hainan Pilot Free Zone was highlighted, as it offers mechanisms to add value to imported products and facilitate their subsequent entry into the Chinese market under certain conditions.
The company expressed its interest in continuing to expand its cooperation with Uruguay and strengthen its operations related to the import and marketing of Uruguayan meat.
For its part, INAC highlighted its uninterrupted participation for six editions in the China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), known as Expo Hainan, which is held annually in the city of Haikou.
Luohu District Delegation, Shenzhen
Subsequently, INAC received an official delegation from the Luohu district in Shenzhen City, headed by Vice Mayor Zhang Zhanning.
Representing the Institute were President Gastón Scayola, General Manager Inés Invernizzi, Marketing Manager Josefina Valenti, and Head of Market Access Christian Shaw.
During the meeting, INAC's institutional work was presented and perspectives were exchanged on the relevance of China as one of the main destinations for Uruguayan beef exports.
INAC authorities highlighted Uruguay as a reliable food supplier, emphasizing the strengths of the national production system in terms of food safety, security, transparency and traceability, as well as the Institute's role as an information provider and guarantee for international markets.
The discussion also covered INAC's active participation in trade fairs and promotional activities in China, as well as opportunities to continue boosting the positioning of high-quality Uruguayan beef among consumers and operators in the Chinese market.
During the exchange, reference was made to the visit made by the President of the Institute to Shenzhen in September of last year, an opportunity in which initiatives related to technological innovation and its application to the agricultural sector were learned about.
The Chinese delegation presented the characteristics of Luohu District, located on the border with Hong Kong and considered one of the main commercial and consumer centers of Shenzhen and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. They also expressed interest in strengthening international cooperation in agricultural trade and developing long-term partnerships with reliable partners such as Uruguay.
Among the possible lines of future work mentioned were actions to promote Uruguayan meat in Luohu, the coordination of activities during the China International Import Expo (CIIE), and the evaluation of gastronomic and commercial dissemination initiatives that allow Uruguayan meat to be brought closer to consumers and operators in the region.
