Vietnamese shrimp exports down in value due to price fluctuations

The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) explained that these decrease is due to fluctuations in the domestic and global shrimp prices.

However, thanks to the growth of 20% in the first quarter, the figure in the first half of this year slightly increased by 5.1% to see US$1.6 billion.

VASEP sais that thanks to higher import demand in Apr-Jun this year and steady shrimp prices, Vietnam’s shrimp sales this year is expected to total US$4 billion.
