Vion announces planned closure of deboning site in Hilden

The planned closure would affect 160 employees. Vion will now enter discussions with the works council on an agreement on the balancing of interests and a social plan and will examine employment alternatives within Vion Food Group where possible. Vion will collaborate with customers and suppliers to ensure continuity, with the vast majority of the customers able to be supplied from other Vion locations and suppliers continuing to deliver to other Vion sites where needed.

The decision is based on ongoing structural changes in the market, which require consolidation.

Vion recognises the impact of this step on employees and will conduct the process responsibly and in close dialogue with employee representatives.
