Vion wins ESG Transparency Award 2025
The international ESG Transparency Award evaluates corporate sustainability reporting across five categories: governance, environment, social responsibility, performance, and communication quality. Vion scored particularly strong in the areas of completeness, structure, and integration of ESG data, reflecting its commitment to science-based targets, responsible sourcing, and measurable progress across its European value chain.
Strong transparency and integrated reporting
Ahead of the requirements, Vion’s sustainability reporting is already in line with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and has been integrated into the company’s 2024 Annual Report. With this step Vion builds on a long history of sustainability reporting being the first meat company already providing CSR reporting since 2017.
This transparency is underpinned by robust governance, data assurance, and clear KPIs tracking progress in key areas such as:
Dr. Veronika Weber, CSO of Vion Food Group, about the award: “Transparency is the foundation of trust. Integrating our sustainability reporting into the annual financial report makes ESG performance part of our business results. Being the first European meat company to receive this recognition confirms that we are setting an industry benchmark for credible ESG reporting.”
The official award ceremony took place on 26 November 2025 at the ESG Summit in Bonn, Germany, as part of the European Sustainability Week.
With this award, Vion joins a small group of European frontrunners whose sustainability reporting meets the highest standards of transparency, relevance, and comparability.
