Viscofan announces a decrease in profit by 28%

Casings producer Viscofan took a hit of 8.8% on the stock market after releasing quarterly figures that are showing a decline of 28.1% in profit for the first 3 months of this year. According to the company, the net profit of the first quarter was reduced to 22, 7 million with an EBITDA of 15.8% (up to 45.8 million euros) and a recurring EBITDA of 0.8 %.
In October 2018, the company announced a decline of 19% in turnover. The first analyzes relate this decline in the stock market with the profit figure, as well as the uncertainty that the company poses to the Asian swine fever, which threatens the objectives set for those markets.
