Brazil's chicken exports up in October

Brazilian chicken exports reached 366,300 tonnes in October, an increase of 0.4% in volume compared to October last year, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA).

On the other hand, exports in value in the mentioned period reached $578.5 million, which is 8.3% lower than last year's results.

In the first ten months of this year, Brazil's chicken exports reached 3.425 million tonnes, 6.7% lower than the 3.673 million tonnes shipped between January and October 2017. In value, exports reached $5.4 billion, which is 11.2% less than in the same period last year.

"The average of exports registered over this second half of 397 thousand tonnes per month, exceeded by more than 8% of the performance achieved last year, which confirms the prospect of recovery pointed out by ABPA for 2018", emphasizes Francisco Turra, president of ABPA.
