Poultry genetics shipments grow 2.8 percent in the year

Revenue generated by shipments reached US$ 238.2 million in 2024, a balance 0.8% lower compared to the total exported in 2023, with US$ 240 million.

In December, poultry genetics shipments reached 1,958 tons, 24.3% lower than in the same period in 2023, with 2,586 tons. Revenue from shipments grew 5.1%, with US$ 21.2 million obtained in December 2024, compared to US$ 20.2 million in the same period in 2023.

Mexico closed the year as the main importer of poultry genetics from Brazil, with 9,378 tons between January and December, a figure 30.6% lower than in 2023. Next came Senegal, with 4,608 tons (+22.1%), Venezuela, with 3,909 tons (+521.1%), South Africa, with 3,459 tons (+45.7%) and Paraguay, with 2,634 tons (-4%).

“Thanks to Brazil’s health status, the national poultry genetics sector has been supporting countries that have faced health issues or that are rebuilding their herds with high-quality genetics. In this context, the sector once again closed the year with positive performance and good expectations for 2025,” says ABPA president Ricardo Santin.
