Brazil: Egg exports grow in April

Brazilian egg exports (considering fresh and processed products) totaled 4.3 thousand tons in April, a volume 271% higher than that recorded in the same period last year, with 1.17 thousand tons, reports the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). In terms of revenue , shipments generated US$ 10.57 million , a result 252.9% higher than that obtained in April 2024, when exports totaled US$ 2.99 million.

With the month's performance, the accumulated total for the four months of 2025 reached 13 thousand tons, an increase of 133.8% compared to the same period last year, with 5.5 thousand tons. Revenue in the period reached US$ 28.3 million, an increase of 152.6%, compared to the same period in 2024, with US$ 11.2 million.

"The month of April maintains the positive pace of egg exports, with a growing presence of Brazilian products in high-value markets with strict sanitary requirements. The increase in sales to the United States and Japan, for example, reinforces international confidence in the quality and safety of our production", highlights ABPA president Ricardo Santin.

April Highlights

Among the main destinations, the United States led Brazil's egg imports in the month, with 2.8 thousand tons shipped and revenue of US$ 6.3 million . Japan comes next, with 371 tons (+298.9%) and revenue of US$ 777 thousand (+299.7%).

Other highlights:

  • Mexico : 242 tons shipped – country that regains its position among the main buyers;
  • Chile : 638 tons (-11.7%), with revenue of US$ 1.58 million (-8.4%);
  • Uruguay : 83 tons (+18.6%), with revenue of US$ 406 thousand (+61.6%);
  • European Union : 22 tons (+64%), with revenue of US$30 thousand (-21.6%);
  • Liberia : 15 tons (+36.7%) with revenue of US$40 thousand (+51.9%);
  • Marshall Islands and Aruba also made the list of destinations for the month.

"We are observing a strategic restructuring of the export agenda. Shipments are more diversified and present in markets that demand high-quality products, paving the way for the consolidation of long-lasting flows", says Santin.
