Bolivia is seeking the export four new products to the Chinese market
Bolivia is making progress in efforts to export four new products to the Chinese market, reported the Bolivian ambassador to that country, Hugo Siles. These include cotton, chicken, pork, and bovine byproducts, such as leather, whose approval is being processed through bilateral health protocols.
"We are working intensively to enable the export of chicken, pork, and cotton. We continue to address this need to expand our export offering," Siles stated in an interview with the state-run channel RTP.
The diplomatic authority indicated that these efforts respond to a direct instruction from President Luis Arce, with the goal of diversifying Bolivian foreign trade and taking advantage of the potential of the Chinese market.
"We are working to ensure that new protocols can be signed soon", added the ambassador, who made these statements during the commemorative event held in Beijing to mark the 39th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bolivia and China.
Siles said the bilateral relationship is at a pivotal moment, with a diverse and strategic agenda that includes everything from technology transfer to the development of the Bioceanic Railway Corridor, strengthening cross-border trade, and intercultural exchanges.
In March this year, Bolivia and China signed the Protocol of Phytosanitary Requirements for the export of Bolivian sorghum in La Paz, which marked concrete progress in opening the Asian market to national agricultural products.
