ABPA and ApexBrasil promote action at the largest food fair in the Mexican market

The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), will take poultry and pork exporting agribusinesses to Expo Carnes y Lacteos 2025, the largest food fair in the Mexican market, which will take place between March 4th and 6th, in Monterrey (Mexico).

ABPA and ApexBrasil promote action at the largest food fair in the Mexican market

In total, 10 agribusinesses will participate in the action: Avenorte, Bello Alimentos, BRF, Coasul, Copacol, GTFoods, Cooperativa Lar Agroindustrial, Pamplona Alimentos, Zanchetta Alimentos and Vibra Foods. ABPA's marketing and commercial promotion coordinator, Nayara Dalmolin, and market access manager, Gabriel Morelli, will participate in the action.

In addition to business meetings with potential customers and importers from Brazilian sectors, the action seeks to reinforce Brazil's image as a reliable partner for Mexican consumers. To this end, in addition to meetings with stakeholders, there will be the distribution of promotional materials with information about Brazil's production sector.

The action takes place just over two months after the renewal of the "Package against Inflation and Hunger" (PACIC, acronym in Spanish), which took place on December 31, 2024. Created to control inflationary effects and food shortages, the package encourages supply through the import of strategic products, such as chicken and pork, with the absence of limiting quotas with zero tariffs.

In January alone, chicken meat exports to the Mexican market grew by 651%, jumping from 1,400 tons in the first month of last year to 10,700 tons in the month. The same occurred with pork, which registered 1,300 tons imported by Mexico in the period - for comparison purposes, in the same period last year it was only 25 tons.

"The Mexican market has been our partner for years and has strengthened this partnership especially this year. We have high expectations regarding the progress we will achieve in this action in Monterrey, further expanding our presence on Mexican shelves and complementing local production", says ABPA president Ricardo Santin.
