INTERPORC strengthens the presence of Spanish pork at Alimentaria

During these days of intense activity, INTERPORC representatives have met with importers and associations from countries such as China, Vietnam, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Peru, the Netherlands, and Poland; and institutions such as Ryohei Shikata, First Secretary of the Economic Section of the Embassy of Japan in Spain. They have shared with all of them the characteristics that make Spanish white pork a world leader in sustainability, biosecurity, and animal welfare.

In this regard, INTERPORC President Manuel García highlighted “the large turnout and an extraordinary atmosphere for networking and strengthening relationships. Undoubtedly, this was a truly memorable event, which is what makes an event like this so valuable.”

For his part, INTERPORC's general manager, Alberto Herranz, highlighted the event's dual impact: "This edition of Alimentaria has confirmed the sector's size and positioning in foreign markets and, domestically, has once again demonstrated that Spanish consumers consider pork among their benchmark foods."

Institutional, educational and gastronomic activities during the fair

Alongside these meetings, INTERPORC participated in various events held during the fair. These included a round table discussion organized by the Triptolemos Foundation, which addressed the main challenges facing the food system; and other initiatives related to biosecurity and the promotion of the Mediterranean food model and diet.

Furthermore, the Interprofessional Association's stand has been a gastronomic hub, featuring cooking demonstrations, tastings, and a culinary competition for young chefs—all activities designed to showcase the versatility and quality of pork products. Visitors also enjoyed pork-themed games and photo opportunities at the stand.
