PROVACUNO is working to accelerate the process of opening the Chinese market

The Spanish beef sector continues working to achieve the long-awaited opening of the large Chinese market for our products. To this end, it is continuing its promotional strategy in China, which began in 2017 and which, for various reasons (changes in government in China, the COVID-19 pandemic, etc.), has not yet achieved the expected results.

SIAL Shanghai, where PROVACUNO is exhibiting, was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, which has an exhibition area of 200,000 square meters. With nearly 5,000 exhibitors from 75 countries and more than 180,000 professional visitors from 110 countries, this fair has become the leading meeting point for all Chinese buyers and distributors and is the perfect venue to convey to the Chinese authorities the Spanish beef sector's interest in introducing a premium product to their sales shelves.

In addition, and strengthening PROVACUNO's activities, a meeting was organized in Beijing on May 22 with representatives of the various entities involved in the decision-making process for the opening of Spanish beef to China. The meeting, which will also be attended by representatives of Spanish diplomatic corps in China, aims to exchange views, gain a more in-depth understanding of the status of our application, and reinforce our request to expedite the corresponding procedures.

Promotional actions in Singapore

Finally, and outside of the activity in China, a series of promotional activities have been organized in Singapore, in this case with the aim of promoting the export of high-quality meat, such as Spanish meat, to a country with high demand for this type of product.

Singapore is a truly important destination, thanks to its high purchasing power, the strong demand for high-quality products, and its position as a hub for distributing foreign products to neighboring countries, taking advantage of its advantageous geographic and fiscal conditions.

As part of this strategy to showcase Spanish beef, PROVACUNO will organize an event in Singapore on May 27th, aimed at the country's main importers and distributors. The event will showcase the characteristics of Spanish beef (tenderness, juiciness, delicate flavor) and the European-Spanish production process. This event will allow guests to confirm that this is a premium beef that perfectly meets the country's demand.

The presence in Singapore will be complemented by a visit to various distribution centers to learn more about the properties of the beef consumed in this country. A masterclass will also be held at a prestigious Singaporean cooking school, led by renowned Spanish chefs Rafa Centeno (awarded a Michelin star at his restaurant Maruja Limón in Vigo) and Héctor Sanz (head chef at the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Lu Cocina y Alma in Jerez de la Frontera).
