QMS launches Sheep Health Survey to help shape future research priorities
Open for six months, the survey will give those working across the sector an important opportunity to highlight which sheep health factors they would like QMS to focus its research on. The findings will play a key role in shaping QMS’s research approach for the sheep sector going forward, helping ensure future work is aligned with the needs and priorities of the people at the heart of Scottish sheep production.
By taking part, farmers, crofters and producers will help direct research towards practical, relevant challenges and opportunities that can support flock health, farm resilience and the long-term success of the sector. QMS is keen to hear from as many voices as possible to build a clear picture of where research can make the greatest difference.
Emma McGowan, Quality Meat Scotland Genetics Specialist, said: “This survey is an important opportunity for farmers and producers to help shape the future direction of sheep health research in Scotland. We want to make sure our work is focused on the areas that will deliver the greatest value to the sector, and that starts by listening to the people with first-hand experience of the challenges and priorities on farm. I would encourage everyone involved in sheep production to take a few minutes to share their views and help guide the research that will support the sector in the years ahead.”
QMS is encouraging all those involved in the sheep sector to take part in the survey and help inform a research agenda that reflects industry priorities, supports continuous improvement and strengthens the future of Scotland’s sheep industry.
