US appetite for Argentine beef skyrockets

This quota, which the Argentine government is trying to have renewed next year, consists of 80,000 tons of meat distributed equally over four quarters, which are distributed on a "first come, first served" basis, without the possibility of using any remaining stock.

Furthermore, Argentine has a historical tariff-free beef quota with the United States of another 20,000 tons annually. Of this quota, which can be shipped at any time of year, approximately 11,830 tons had already been fulfilled.
