4608 TECH DAY added to Carnexpo GRILL's agenda Novelties in meat processing technology will be highlighted at this year's edition of the event.
Carnexpo GRILL 2021 adds an important topic to its agenda. During the event, on 10-12 June, at Theodora Golf Club Alba Iulia, novelties in meat processing and packaging will be showcased for a full day.
Tech Day, or Technology Day, aims to bring together the best-known suppliers of equipment and machinery for the food industry, and representatives of manufacturers of spices and ingredients.

"This concept appeared due to the lack of profile events in the last two years. The specialists in the meat industry did not have the opportunity to present their latest products and solutions in the exhibition we organize - Indagra Food & CARNEXPO. Thus, we found the solution to set up a tent with an area of ??1,000 sqm where technological innovations will be exhibited. We really want the market to return to normal, but there is great uncertainty that we will be able to organize this year the classic CARNEXPO fair, where the participation was over 60,000 visitors ", says Eugen CAPRA, general manager of CARNEXPO Grill.

Tech Day is a viable solution for suppliers to interact with specialists in the meat industry, HoReCa and even retail. The tent will be located near the gazebo inside Theodora Golf Club, a space that will be dedicated mainly to producers and processors of meat and meat products.

It will be an exceptional edition, with many surprises for participants, in view of the partnerships concluded by CARNEXPO Grill with the National Association of Chefs and Confectioners in Tourism (ANBCT), the Association of Italian Chefs, the Disciples Escoffier Culinary Institute, the Association of Meat Processors of the Republic of Moldova the organizers of "D`ale Porcului" Festival (which will make live demonstrations of pork preparation) and last but not least, special guests from Belgium, Spain, Germany, etc. will be present. CARNEXPO Grill also enjoys the support of associations in the meat industry: the Romanian Meat Association (ARC), the Association of Romanian Pork Producers (APCPR), the Association of Cattle Breeders and Exporters of Cattle, Sheep and Pigs (ACEBOP), the Association of Salami Producers of Sibiu (APSS).

Reserve your place at: office@carnexpogrill.ro

Contacts:

Ana Maria Mihai +40734 333 588 / anamaria.mihai@industriacarnii.ro

Flavius Marin +40734 333 589 / flavius.marin@industriacarnii.ro
    Events 2021-04-14 10:40:24 2025-08-01 09:34:16 Details Edit Delete
4755 The event that took place in Alba Iulia, Romania had a more spectacular format than its first edition. The next project will be GRILLFEST, announced the organizers.
CARNEXPO Grill 2021 was a real gastronomic show, a dynamic event in which top chefs in Romania held a series of culinary shows, with an emphasis on promoting local products.

The second edition of CARNEXPO Grill was even more spectacular than the first one, held in 2020, gathering the most important companies in the meat industry, HoReCa and retail, which met at the luxury resort Theodora Golf Club, between 10-11 June.

“Our duty, of all, is to promote Romanian local products and to identify complete solutions for the meat industry, HoReCa and for retail. We are going through a difficult period for the HoReCa sector and, through this event, we want to prove that we are all strong and ready to develop and promote Romanian gastronomy", said Eugen CAPRA, General Manager of CARNEXPO Grill.

The new event format, held for the second consecutive year in a top location in Romania, had the role of establishing new connections between participants, but also to present the meat in a modern way, in the form of interactive culinary shows. At this year's edition, METRO was the main supplier of ingredients for chefs who held demonstrations at CARNEXPO Grill, providing participants with complete solutions for the dishes they cooked: fresh and frozen fish, meat from their own production unit but also a variety of METRO Chef products, a mark developed for specialists in the hospitality industry.

CARNEXPO Grill was a B2B event, where specialists in the meat industry, HoReCa, retail, equipment suppliers, had the opportunity to share their ideas, know-how and lay the foundations for new partnerships.

The chefs presented different techniques for cooking Romanian meat, using modern grills, smokers, ovens and hobs, and the guests had to choose, depending on the type of meat preferred: poultry, pork, beef, sheep, fish and, as a novelty, buffalo meat. The organizers of CARNEXPO Grill support the fight against food waste, so all the surplus food cooked during the two days of the event was donated to disadvantaged people.

Next project announced

"In the last 15 years, together with Eugen Capra, the initiator of CARNEXPO Grill, we have laid the foundations of several projects, including the specialized magazine INDUSTRIA CARNII.RO, AgroFood, EuroMeatNews.com, the INDUSTRIA CARNII.RO Yearbook and the CARNEXPO trade fair. Besides these important projects, our future will be GRILLFEST - the first meat festival dedicated to Romanian consumers ", said Dorinel NICULAE, Project Manager CARNEXPO Grill.

The GRILLFEST concept was launched within CARNEXPO Grill, and the launch included a premiere for the Romanian market - the realization of the burger worth 1,000 euros, under the signature of Chef Iulian Olaru, former 'Chefs la Cutite' competitor. Golden Burger was made from premium ingredients: Romanian Black Angus beef, black and gold caviar produced in Romania, buns, cheeses and vegetables of local origin, and was decorated with gold leaf. In the end, Chef together with the organizers cut the big burger with a sword and offered it to the spectators for tasting.

The organizers set out to make the GRILLFEST event the largest festival dedicated to meat and gastronomy in Romania. The essence of the festival is the passion for barbeque, to which are added product presentations, street food, live cooking sessions held by famous chefs. GRILLFEST is a project that will be supported by a number of entrepreneurs in the meat, HoReCa and retail industries.

CARNEXPO Grill 2021 was an exceptional edition, with many surprises for participants, in terms of partnerships concluded by CARNEXPO Grill with the National Association of Cooks and Confectioners in Tourism (ANBCT), the Association of Italian Chefs, the Culinary Institute Disciples Escoffier, the organizers of „D`ale Porcului Festival ” (who made live demonstrations of pork preparation) and the representatives of „Fratia Ceaunelor”. An important moment at CARNEXPO Grill was the festive dinner offered by Solina, partner of the event and the main supplier of spices and food ingredients. The dishes were prepared by a team of chefs coordinated by Chef Dragos Bercea.

For this year's edition, the CARNEXPO Grill promoters have joined forces with HoReCa specialists to launch strategies aimed at developing Romanian gastronomy and to support Romania's national senior and junior teams. Within CARNEXPO Grill 2021, the National Association of Chefs and Confectioners in Tourism (ANBCT) made available all its knowledge for the realization and promotion of Romanian products.
After two successful editions in Romania, the organizers of CARNEXPO Grill are preparing a new top edition, the first international format of the event, which will take place between June 24-25, 2021, at Castel Mimi Winery in the Republic of Moldova.

    Events 2021-06-17 06:58:22 2025-07-30 23:13:39 Details Edit Delete

5363 CARNEXPO Grill - The first barbecue concept that reunites the Romanian business elite The third edition of the event will take place on May 5-6 in a new location, Phenicia Blue View in Olimp and adds new culinary shows, announced Eugen Capra, general manager, CARNEXPO Grill.
CARNEXPO Grill, now in its third edition in 2022, is a unique concept in Romania that will take place on May 5-6 in a new location, Phenicia Blue View in Olimp and will attract the most important specialists in the food industry. beverages, HoReCa and retail, both from Romania and abroad.
More than 3,000 experts are expected to attend the beachfront, in a luxurious location that allows the event to be extended to a much larger area of up to 15,000 square meters.
It is by far the most important gastronomic event in Romania that brings together most professionals in the food industry, HoReCa and retail, in order to develop business and discover new products and market trends. As every year, delegates of foreign experts from the Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Hungary, Belgium and Germany, Italy, Spain, France will attend this event.
Eugen Capra, general manager of CARNEXPO Grill, spoke about the evolution of this project and about the novelties of this year's edition.

How did the CARNEXPO Grill project come to life and how did it perform during the first two editions?

The project was born from the need of producers to promote their range of grilled meat products, and because we have been the organizers of the CARNEXPO exhibition for many years, we kept the line and chose to develop a new barbecue concept for the Romanian market.
I thought of it as a premium outdoor event that combines the business side with the relaxation, so necessary in an industry where a lot of work is done and which constantly needs the development of new concepts and products. Indeed, it is much different from a classic exhibition, where the emphasis is on networking and business matchmaking. We started promoting the event in 2020, through a series of video episodes, in which together with famous Chefs in Romania, such as Chef Orlando Zaharia and Chef Iulian Olaru, we promoted local products from several regions of the country. Through this action, we managed to create a favorable image for Romanian producers, promoting gastronomy and beautiful tourist locations of Romania.

During the first edition, in 2020, we focused on offering our guests from HoReCa and retail interactive culinary shows, in which Chefs showed different techniques for preparing several categories of meat products: pork, poultry, beef, sheep. Chef Orlando Zaharia, Chef Iulian Olaru, Chef Antonio Passarelli, Chef Michael Passarelli, Chef Paul Siserman, Chef Dragos Bercea delighted the over 200 experts and enthusiasts from the basic sectors of the food industry, HoReCa and retail. Also, butcher shows made by Moldovan's specialists revealed the mastery of Romanian butchers and the quality of local products.

In 2021, the project confirmed that it is the most successful gastronomic event in Romania, managing to attract over 1,500 specialists from the meat industry, HoReCa, retail, equipment suppliers and food ingredients. This is practically the moment when we understood that we managed to lay the foundations for the implementation of this barbecue concept around which the Romanian business elite gathers to do business.
The feedback received in 2021 from the participants from HoReCa and retail determined us to expand the event area to this year's edition, especially as the HoReCa operators on the coast, but also from the rest of the country are interested in identifying new suppliers of meat, but also of cheeses, drinks or bakery products. We promote the concept of barbecue, in which meat is the star, but around it we build a complete experience for our specialist guests.

How is this year's event structured, what's new?

This year's edition proposes a much more complex experience, in terms of the new structure of the event, which involves the largest space so far - 15,000 square meters. Remaining true to its main mission, that of promoting local products and Romanian services, CARNEXPO Grill takes place in 2022 in a different area of the country, by the sea, in a 4-star location - Phenicia Blue View Resort in Olympus.
Basically, together with the most important meat producers, we will make the official opening of the 2022 grill season in Romania. At the same time, with the partners from HoReCa and tourism, we will make the official opening of the 2022 summer season, through which we want to encourage tourists from Romania and abroad to come and visit us and taste the new Romanian gastronomy.
At the same time, we present the new event format dedicated to consumers - GrillFest Experience, through which we aim to bring a new grill experience to consumers and to support the food education of Romanians. We will bring with us well-known nutritionists to provide quality information on proper and tasty food, but also on the benefits of sports for maintaining health.
People need to eat simpler and healthier food without feeling pressured to give up certain foods. And the meat industry doesn't have to be put in a bad light. We see that many manufacturers are investing heavily in developing safe and healthy products. Consumers need to find out which combinations work best for them in order to have a balanced diet.
The GrillFest concept involves an area with grill stands, where visitors can learn all this information directly from experts in the field and experience new food combinations.

What shows and contests are scheduled to liven up this year's event?

For the first time in Romania, we organize Top Chef MACELAR, the first competition that aims to select the best master butchers, bringing together teams of professionals who proudly represent the butchers' sector. The competitors will go through several tests, judged by a panel of specialists, in the fight for the great trophy of Chef Butcher of Romania.
In this field, innovation is very important, the category of semi-prepared, ready-to-cook, ready-to-eat must be developed, but also the styles of cuts of meat on different categories, such as pork, chicken, beef or sheep. Equally important is the positioning and presentation of these products. Romanians like already established products (small, sausages, burgers), but research is needed to create new products, in line with popular taste trends globally.
Top Chef MACELAR is a project very dear to our soul, which promotes the essence of this industry, which we have been serving for over 15 years and we want it to become a traditional competition in Romania.
Without such a competition or without the School of Butchers - another important project that we will launch, there is a risk that this profession will not have a future in Romania. We have young people who are really passionate about this profession, who do not have the opportunity to develop in our country, which is why the Butchery School that we will launch together with the Agrofood Association and Pallazzo Italia needs the full support of the Romanian meat industry.

What are the values of this new competition?

Much more than a simple competition, Top Chef MACELAR is about the art of learning, sharing and innovating through new meat processing techniques designed to contribute to the specialized development of the meat industry. The concept of Top Chef MACELAR is intended to create an environment in which Romanian butchers try to overcome the current practice of the industry in its various stages of production: general preparation, meat cutting, exhibition and creative use of beef, pork, sheep and poultry products. . Through this competition, we want to build a professional community that will generate business opportunities and supports trade to benefit from an infusion of creativity and innovation.
In this way, we invite all partners and specialists in the meat industry to join this bold project that brings clear solutions for the very existence of the butcher business in Romania.
The organization of the competition is only the first step we take in collaboration with the Agrofood Association and Pallazzo Italia, a partnership that aims to establish the first National Butchery Team of Romania and the Professional School of Butchers, social-educational projects for training and education of future masters butcher. We have already started the research stages with specialists from Italy, in order to develop new types of cuts and different products, which will bring benefits to the meat industry.
The participation of the Romanian butchers' team in all international competitions will be done through the specialized magazine EuroMeatNews.com, another project of ours that grows from year to year and which at this moment is the most important publication on the meat sector. globally.

What will the gastronomy area look like this year?

For us, the gastronomy area is very important, and through the partnerships, we have with ANBCT, HORA, RESTO Constanta, Escoffier Romania, Associazione Cuochi Italieni, we will organize competitions and culinary demonstrations with the most important Chefs in Romania, in order to refine and modernize the Romanian gastronomy. The national teams of Romanian chefs will be with us, internationally recognized pastry chefs and bakers will set the trend in Romanian cuisine.
Mainly, we aim for Romanian products to be taken over by these culinary masters and later, through the partners from HoReCa and retail, to reach the tables of consumers in the country and abroad.

Will CARNEXPO Grill reach the borders of the country again?

We are living through difficult times for all mankind, and our thoughts are certainly on understanding and peace. CARNEXPO Grill was very well received last year by the authorities and specialists of the Republic of Moldova and we have high hopes that we will organize it again in 2022. We also presented the concept of several European associations in the meat industry and we plan a special edition at Brussels, in the autumn, which will include the lobby we want to make at the European level.

What is the message you send to the producers? Why should I attend CARNEXPO Grill?

Our message is one of unity, of developing partnerships between specialists and implicitly of growing the Romanian economy. The motto of this year's edition is the Great Unification (of Romania) and we expect all the industries involved in this gastronomic show to find the best collaboration solutions to be able to provide consumers with quality products at competitive prices.
We are a team specialized in marketing and event organization, with over 15 years of experience, which has confirmed over time, through all the projects it carries out, that it wants to contribute to the development of the agri-food sector in Romania.
Therefore, the companies from the Romanian industry are invited to support as much as possible this project, which is an excellent business platform in the development of local businesses. Only through such projects can we create a favorable picture for the Romanian industry.
The meat industry suffers from a lack of communication and promotion of meat products. That's why, at CARNEXPO Grill, we have integrated a nutrition and sports area, and together with the partners from HoReCa, we aim to educate consumers, to eat as healthy as possible and to do sports. Only with the involvement of food industry operators will we be able to raise the level of performance of the sector, in order to continue to provide safe and quality food.

About this year's event

15,000 sqm will host 8 dedicated areas:

MEAT EXPO The main exhibition area / area of the event in which the participants have the opportunity to exhibit their meat products and preparations and to personalize their stand according to the promotional campaigns they have in progress

- TECH Area / technology, equipment, consumables and software services, all in the same place, an area dedicated exclusively to this segment essential for the modern production of meat and meat products, but also for the technological needs of retail and HoReCa

- WINE & CHEESE Area / area dedicated to producers of wines, beer and other alcoholic beverages and traditional partners in the cheese area

- HORECA Area / HoReCa segment receives at this edition, its own area where participants can promote their products and services for the HoReCa segment

- SWEETS & SNACKS Area / from bakery, pastry and confectionery, to ice cream or sandwiches, the sweets & snacks area comes naturally in addition to the grill experience

- BUSINESS Lounge / area dedicated to business meetings and networking, where participants can rent booths that they can optimize and customize according to preferences

- GASTRO Area / a tradition of the event already, is also hosted in an area specially dedicated to culinary shows, which this year will host the first national butcher contest: TOP CHEF BUTCHER, simultaneously with a traditional gastronomy contest

- BEACH LOUNGE / relaxation area, a journey dedicated to culinary art, fine drinks, music and entertainment concepts and events

    Events 2022-03-18 09:09:08 2025-08-01 10:09:43 Details Edit Delete
5258 Top Butcher Chef contest to be held first time at CARNEXPO Grill 2022 This event, a premiere in the East European market, will take place in Olimp, at Phoenicia Blue View resort at the Black Sea.
CARNEXPO Grill, the most important local gastronomic event, organizes, for the first time, the international Top Butcher Chef competition, between May 5-6, 2022 at Phenicia Blue View in Olimp, in order to promote and develop the butchers' guild in Romania.
Top Butcher Chef is the first competition that aims to select the best master butchers, bringing face-to-face teams of professionals from the country and abroad who will go through several competition tests, judged by an international jury, in the fight for the grand trophy: Butcher of Romania.
"Much more than a simple competition, Top Butcher Chef is about the art of learning, sharing and innovating through new meat processing techniques designed to contribute to the specialized development of the meat industry. Through this competition, we want to build a professional community that will generate business opportunities and supports the general trade to benefit from an infusion of creativity and innovation," said Eugen CAPRA, CEO of CARNEXPO Grill.

Top Butcher Chef will take place in the most awaited gastronomic event in Romania, CARNEXPO Grill 2022, for three hours, and each competing team will have at its disposal half a carcass of beef, half a carcass of pork, a lamb whole and five chicken carcasses, which you will have to turn into value-added products.
The participating teams will be able to provide their own spices, marinades and garnishes to finish the products that will be designed to inspire and exceed the limits. The finished products will then be presented as if they could be marketed in a retail setting. The jury consists of independent referees, selected by the organizers from the most important specialists in the world specialty industry, and will score each team according to technique and skills, workmanship, product innovation, overall finish and presentation.

The first edition of the Top Butcher Chef competition is all the more important as it responds to the current challenges regarding the lack of skilled workers in factories and slaughterhouses in Romania. The current crisis of skilled workers in the meat industry is getting worse every year, becoming a deep global problem. The technical and vocational education system in Romania does not meet the demand on the local labor market. So far, Romania do not have vocational schools in the public educational system to prepare new generations for this industry, in practice vocational training is done at work. "The organization of Top Butcher Chef within CARNEXPO Grill is just the first step we take in collaboration with Agrofood Association, a partnership that aims to establish the first National Butchery Team of Romania and the Professional School of Butchers, social-educational training projects and education of future butchers. 3901 Carnimad presents a technical guide for butchers The technical manual "Tasting Zone" and COVID-19 Protocol will answer possible questions that may arise among professionals in the specialized meat trade sector, in relation to the implementation of the complementary tasting activity in the Community of Madrid.
Carnimad has prepared the technical manual "Tasting Area", accompanied by the attached Protocol COVID-19. Both guides have been prepared to answer possible questions that may arise among professionals in the specialized meat trade sector, in relation to the complementary tasting activity in the Community of Madrid, and to its implementation or reactivation in response to the different phases of de-escalation.
This activity, which can be an important way of commercialization for the products of the butcher shop, charcuterie, poultry or shell, must contemplate, for its installation, a space dedicated to the tasting area, as well as implement procedures and practices at a technical level and legal on food safety, which on the other hand are already present in the daily activity carried out by the professional in the specialized meat trade in their establishments.

The legislation on food safety that affects the food sector is very strict and this represents a clear advantage over other sectors in the current situation, but it is always advisable to take certain measures even more, and take precautions, such as it is included in the guide referring to the COVID-19 Protocol, where the specific procedures to be developed during the de-escalation stages of COVID-19 are specified.
    Industry 2020-06-15 11:16:07 2025-08-01 11:48:06 Details Edit Delete
4462 Carnimad elects new board of directors New profiles have been added among the leaders of Madrid meat professionals.
Carnimad has renewed its Board of Directors and has done so by incorporating new profiles in its governing body. Joining the team as members are Trinidad Gomez, Director of the Sertina company; Juan Carlos San Cayo, Manager of SanCayo Carniceria, and Alberto Salto, Manager of El As de las Carnes.
In compliance with the provisions of its Statutes, Carnimad held, on November 23, 2020, the elections to elect its representatives in the government of the organization for a new four-year legislative period.

Formally constituted by all its members on February 1, the result of this election has brought about the renewal of its Board of Directors with three new additions as members. The rest of the positions, also by a unanimous vote of the members of the Organization, will continue to be filled by the same professionals who were already doing so in the previous legislature.
The Organization thus has, since its constitution in 1931 and coinciding with the year in which it celebrates its 90 years of existence, two women in its management body. Trinidad Gomez is, together with her sister, the Director of the Sertina company, synonymous with quality and a benchmark in the sector of the traditional trade of poultry products, currently having 100 workers, 15 points of sale in Madrid, delegation in Marbella and Barcelona, and a caterer division.
Mariti, as she is known among our professionals, is a pioneer woman in the sector and as such will contribute to the organization her special vision and knowledge of it, through the prism of the sale of birds, a booming segment in our country in the recent years and with a long journey, which can serve the group in order to open new lines of business.

Alberto Salto, Founder and Manager of El As de las Carnes, is one of the exponents of that necessary generational change for which Carnimad has worked so hard. In fact, despite his youth, he has spent more than half his life working in the specialized trade sector, he currently has two butcher shops, a fish shop, a poultry shop and a delicatessen store. He has also managed to create a brand and a young team, having a more than notorious presence on social networks.

Alberto seeks to revolutionize the specialized meat trade, without giving up traditional products to which he has added his personal touch. It is precisely his positive attitude, his freshness and youth that has led him to occupy a position on the new Board of Directors.

Juan Carlos San Cayo, Manager of Carnicerias San Cayo, has led almost his entire career at the forefront of the business that his father founded in the Las Ventas Market, and which he expanded by opening another point of sale at street level in 2014; the latter made up not only of butcher shops but also delicatessens, poultry and a great selection of gourmet products, betting on the sale and production of his own products.
The structure of the association for the next 4 years is as follows:
President: Carlos Rodriguez Marcos.
Vice-president: Javier Moran Lopez.
Vice-president: Juan Jose Garcia Sanz.
Secretary: Elena Almena Almenara.
Member: Javier Arias Iglesias.
Member: Juan José Fernandez Lopez.
Member: Trinidad Gomez García.
Member: Daniel Herrero Gonzalez.
Member: Antonio Pena Barrio.
Member: Alberto Salto Lorenzo.
Member: Juan Carlos San Cayo Patino.
    Industry 2021-02-05 09:07:42 2025-08-01 05:29:34 Details Edit Delete
4797 Carnimad takes attitude against the use of term 'vegetarian butcher shop' "It is illegal and stands for unfair competition", says the professional association from Madrid.
Carnimad, Madrid's Butchers Association, takes a step forward and urges the authorities to ban the use of the 'butcher shop' term in stores that are selling vegetarian products. Already in May 2020, Cedecarne, a union organization of which Carnimad is part, signaled the illegal use - and increasingly frequent- of the meat denominations in food establishments, to market plant products that mimick the aspect of meat products.

"A year later, in Carnimad we have seen ourselves in the obligation to take a step forward because the irregularity of the situation no longer affects meat denominations, but to the model itself, with the opening in Madrid of Compassion - the first "vegetarian butcher shop" of Spain, as they call it themselves," says a press release from Carnimad.
The association decided to send the new company a letter in which reminded it that 'butcher shop' term stands for "an establishment dedicated to manipulation, preparation and presentation and, where appropriate, storage of fresh meats and spoils, with or without bone, in its different modalities, as well as meat preparations, meat products and other products of animal origin, for sale to the consumer in the dependencies own intended for this purpose", as defined by the Decree 1376/2003.
"Likewise, we also understand that the activity they develop can not be framed in any of the retail trade activities of meat and meat products in specialized establishments, which have their own tax grades," added Carnimad.
Much more, the incorrect use of the denominations in Compassion store goes far beyond the name of the establishment, because it is present in almost all Compassion products, both in the physical and online store, vulnerating national and European regulations, and leading to consumer confusion. Specifically, they use terms such as "red meats", "white meats", "sausages", "Entrecots", "Chorizos" and even "Our Iberians".
"From Carnimad, we consider that this misuse of the meat denominations is extremely serious, since it is clearly a cheating to the consumer, in addition to supposing an act of unfair competition," said the association in a press release.
Carnimad invoques a 2017 judgment of the European Court acted with force regarding those terms that referred to dairy products without carrying milk of animal origin, removing the term "milk" only allowed for those that come from animals. This interpretation is extensive, without any doubt, for the meat terms.
"Likewise, as representatives of trade sector professionals, with a marked artisan character, we congratulate all the entrepreneurial initiatives that contribute to dynamize neighborhoods and cities, but never breaching current legislation and much less confusing consumers. Therefore, we request the immediate review and withdrawal of any reference to meat products or derivatives in the labeling and communication of the establishment, seeking a solution according to the current European regulatory framework," concluded the association.
Carnimad hereby reserves the right to undertake any other type of action, both in defense of consumers and in the field of its commercial activity.
    Market 2021-07-08 05:07:07 2025-08-01 04:20:18 Details Edit Delete
4081 Carnimad warns about the risk of shopping in personal containers The use of own containers to make purchases in specialized food stores is allowed and on the rise, but it must preserve some minimum conditions so that they are suitable, says Madrid's butcher association.
Carnimad, the professional association of butchers from Madrid, considers shopping in own containers a factor of risk for the health of the consumer. Although it is still too early to talk about a trend, more and more consumers come with their own containers to buy meat products and delicatessen from the butchershops in Spain. The specialized meat trade and its professionals, aligned with the commitment to reduce the use of plastics and accepted this method but it is essential to impose a series of guidelines, in order to avoid unnecessary risks to the health of the consumer, forcing them to keep the packaging in perfect condition, warns Carnimad.
New guidelines were printed and posted in the butcher shops around Madrid in order to inform the clients about the condition of their own packaging material. "The use of their own containers is allowed, but it is necessary to preserve some minimum conditions so that it is suitable to keep the food. Because of a lack of training and education in food safety can pose a risk to consumer health, the establishment reserves the right not to provide the product in the packaging provided by the consumer if it considers that it does not meet the appropriate hygiene characteristics, as its professionals are responsible for what happens inside the store in terms of safety food," said the association in a press release.
Therefore, the establishment can allow consumers to provide their own packaging, for the purchase of bulk products as long as:

- Are reusable containers made of terracotta, glass or plastic suitable for food use or with the symbol
- That the container does not have marks that show that it has previously contained food from another manufacturer or nature, or that it has contained or been in contact with non-food products that are toxic or incompatible with food or beverages.
- That the container is not damaged and is clean and disinfected.
- And you will never pack food in metal cans or containers with metal lids, sheets of “metal papers”, papers, cardboard, cardboard, cellulosic and plastic films, metal caps and capsules.
    Retail 2020-09-08 11:41:35 2025-08-01 05:50:56 Details Edit Delete
4671 Carpisa Foods enters the Spanish fresh meat market
Carpisa Foods, a Spanish company specialized in processing beef, wants to enter the Spanish fresh meat market with an investment of €2 million made in a processing area in its plant near Madrid.
This new space is intended to produce fresh and artisan hamburgers and snacks for the hospitality and foodservice channel, which they hope to reach this May.

"We had been wanting to bet on fresh food for some time since it allows us to diversify our business by providing new solutions to the hoteliers and the foodservice channel," says Luis Fernandes, commercial director of Carpisa Foods, quoted by the Carnica magazine. 3441 Carrefour Romania opens state of the art hypermarket near Bucharest More bio-products in the shelves and digitalization are some of the novelties that are brought in the Romanian market by the retailer.
Carrefour just opened its 37th hypermarket in Romania, 24 kilometers away from Bucharest, in Balotesti. The store explores new concepts in Romanian retail and offers multiple services for the customers, as Catalin Samara, COO, Carrefour Romania said. "This is the most digitized store in Romania at this time. Almost every product in this store has an electronic tag on it. This system is backed by our application dubbed Carrefour Pay which allows our clients to order online products from our list or to scan the products from their shopping cart and reduce the waiting time at the counter", explained Mr. Samara.
In the last couple of years, Carrefour Romania has moved part of its services to online, by using its own website or apps such as Bringo and Gurmando.
