Brazil: Pork exports grow in April

In terms of revenue , international sales for the month totaled US$301.5 million, 24.7% higher than that recorded in April 2024, with US$241.9 million.

In the first four months of 2025, Brazil shipped 466 thousand tons of pork, an increase of 15.9% compared to the same period last year (402.2 thousand tons). Foreign exchange revenue in the period reached US$ 1.09 billion , an increase of 29.9% compared to the US$ 839.6 million obtained between January and April 2024.

"The April result reinforces the upward trend in exports in 2025, with growth in key markets and expansion in strategic destinations in Asia and Latin America. In addition to the increase in volume, the sector has seen a significant increase in revenue, reflecting the quality of Brazilian products and the international recognition of our health status," highlights ABPA president Ricardo Santin .

  • Philippines – 29.8 thousand tons (+78.4%), with US$ 66.2 million (+90.4%);

Performance by exporting state

The main pork exporting states in April were:

  • Santa Catarina – 66.3 thousand tons, an increase of 6.8% compared to April 2024;
  • Rio Grande do Sul – 27.9 thousand tons, with growth of 29.2% ;
  • Paraná – 21.5 thousand tons, registering an expansion of 25.5% .
  • Minas Gerais – 3.5 thousand tons, increasing by 114.7%;

ABPA projects that the positive pace will continue in the following months, driven by new market openings, greater logistical predictability and ongoing health negotiations with markets in North America and Southeast Asia. Maintaining biosafety standards and a commitment to sustainable practices will continue to be the foundations for the expansion of Brazilian pork in global trade.
